Accession/Manifistation: How it works

The two Stratagems that Scholars get which allows the next spell cast to become AoE instead of single target are Accession and Manifestation.

Accession: Light Arts Strategem (Level 40)

  • Extends the effect of your next healing or enhancing white magic spell to party members within range.
  • MP cost is doubled and casting time is doubled.*
  • MP cost is tripled and casting time is doubled.**

*na Spells En* Spells Deodorize

Manifestation: Dark Arts Strategem (Level 40)

  • Extends the effect of your next dark or enfeebling black magic spell to all targets in range.
  • MP cost is doubled and casting time is doubled.*
  • MP cost is tripled and casting time is doubled.**
  • This will – like other AoE’s on enemies – will rid of all shadow images an enemy has up.

*MP cost is doubled from the *BASE MP* – Under Light Arts/Dark Arts, you receive a 10% MP cost reduction, this reduction does not apply for Accession’s/Manifestation’s  “Double MP Cost”. For example: Stoneskin costs 29 MP. Under Light Arts it costs 26MP. However, when using Accession, it costs 29*2=58MP instead of 26*2=52MP.
**Prior to the March 2008 update, Accession/Manifestation required three times MP cost of the spell. The update changed it to two times.
